What Does The Board Do?
The board sets objectives and makes sure that these are kept to. It is also responsible for setting up and delivering business and development plans, approving budgets, monitoring performance and making sure that everything is legal.
What role do tenant and leaseholder board members have?
Tenant board members are:
- An equal part of the board team
- Play the same role and follow the same rules as other board members
- Bring a tenant perspective to company decisions
- Act in the best interests of the company
- As well as meeting and working together as a Board, there are also sub-committees of the board which look in more detail at human resources, finance and performance.
How often are elections held for tenant and leaseholder board members?
Elections will be held in rotation over a three-year period:
Year 1 (2012) – No elections held
Year 2 (2013) – Three tenant places to be elected
Year 3 (2014) – Two tenant places and one leaseholder place
and so on...
