Colchester Borough Homes residents get into the Christmas spirit

20 December 2019

Xmas Party

Residents at Colchester Borough Homes' sheltered housing schemes have been getting into the Christmas spirit, with a number of festive activities taking place in the run up to the big day.

Residents at Grymes Dyke Court enjoyed a Christmas party and buffet on Wednesday 19 December, followed by a ukulele band playing Christmas songs. Tenants were invited to sing along- creating a fantastic festive atmosphere.

On the same day, Heathfields House enjoyed a special Christmas lunch, with a hearty dinner prepared by local business Bakeoffe on Old Heath Road.

Many of the schemes have also enjoyed carol concerts by local groups such as nurseries and brownies, quizzes, craft workshops, Christmas shopping and even pantomime trips.

Colchester Borough Homes Head of Housing Management Karen Williams said: "These events are a great chance for residents to socialise and celebrate the holiday season together.

"Our Older Person Services Team build a fantastic relationship with residents and work hard to facilitate a variety of special activities for them to enjoy. I would like to take the opportunity to wish all our residents across the borough a very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year."
