A great volunteering opportunity - S.W.E.P (Severe Weather Emergency Provision) Volunteers

As the temperature drops, understandably concerns grow for the welfare of those sleeping rough on the streets. Would you like to help rough sleepers and potentially save lives? We have an exciting volunteer role that you could be a part of.

During severe weather the homeless are at greater risk of harm. Many rough sleepers have health issues, which the freezing cold often makes worse. The Severe Weather Emergency Provision (a place where the homeless can stay during extreme cold nights) will be opening from 20:30 - 08:00.

This is a reactive service, determined by weather forecasts and temperature changes. We are looking for volunteers who are extremely flexible to work as part of a team to cover a few hours (or more) at a town centre location, to help support the SWEP.
